Waterfall, Bird Watching and Gaur Watching

This event was created for participants in “The Great Fig Leaf Run” but you may join it as a “stand alone” event.

For participants in the Great Fig Leaf Run, it starts around 11.00 after breakfast,

11.30 – Meetup PTT Gasolin Station near Wat Bu Pai on the 304 road from Ratchasima (Korat) to Kabinburi. Here is a link.  To reach here from Bangkok, start around 7.30 and go over Prachinburi, Kabinburi.

11.45 – Go along the road to the “Nam Tok Man Far” – or the Blue Curtain Water Fall – but continue to another waterfall which is seldom visited by outsiders. You can drive to within 1 km of the waterfall. From there walk to the waterfall.

15.00 – Leave from the water fall, to watch more birds in an adjacent area with higher chances. The chance to view Siam Fireback Pheasant is very high. Participants must bring own binoculars or accept that they only see the wild life with their eyesight .

16.00 – Leave from Bird Watching area for the Krating watching area. The Krating is a jungle ox, a Gaur species, also called Indian Bison. Their appearance depend on if they are out grazing right there on their regular spot that day – or for some reason went elsewhere.

Around 17.00  we leave back for Bangkok. The drive is approx. 4 hours.

Participation cost:
The cost for this event will be shared among the participants and paid at the start of the walk. Prepare 400 THB. but it will likely be less.
