Opening party at Lemon Tree Resort Phuket

The official opening party a Lemon Tree in the weekend of 16 – 17 July was nice in every way – great food, luxurious accommodation, fun activities and great company.
On Saturday, when Dao and I arrived from Bangkok, Victor was already there. So was Bill Dunlap – our local Phuket naturist and Kristin, who works as a teacher over in Nakornsrithammarat. They were both in high spirit. Bill was happy that finally there is a naturist place on “his” island. Kris had visited us at Barefeet a month ago but now her leg was out of the plaster it was in at that time and she was happy that she could now move more freely. Both were as talkative as ever.
Also Hoew and his wife where there. We were all excited to meet her as we had heard this would be her first time as a naturist. I asked her how she felt and she laughed and said “if you cannot beat them, join them.” But she seemed to genuinely enjoy the atmosphere and was not shy at all. Her name is Ting Ting and she is very sweet and great to talk. Especially the next day when the four of us were alone in the car on our way to the airport and she told us about her business. Unfortunately that meant that I didn’t get to talk too much to Hoew. But there will be another time.
When we arrived, it was already 3 in the afternoon so we just quickly said hello to Pat and Golf, then dropped our suitcase and went with Golf and the other guys to the beach where Golf had a boat waiting for us to go nude snorkling. The corals near Rawai are good enough to enjoy marine life but of course we are not talking great barrier reef. Back on board we sailed around the island to find a beach where we could be nude as well. Some huts on the beach was what was left of the former Evason Resort which was built on that island but today is a ruin. The beach was pristine though and lovely to lie down on. When I woke up, the sun was about to set so we sailed around the island to enjoy the sunset from the west beach. Eventually it had completelybset and we sailed back to Rawai and hurried home to Lemon Tree Resort.
When we came back, Pat had prepared a lovely buffet for us with lots of skewers with chicken, beef and even seafood. There was just time for a quick dip in the lovely salt chlorinated pool – then we went on board the buffet. When we were getting full, we moved closer together so that we could talk more. At that point Pat held a speech about the exciting venture she and Golf had embarked on making Lemon Tree Resort Naiharn Beach a naturist resort. And she revealed that now that they were officially opened she had resigned from her regular job to manage Lemon Tree Resort full time. We all cheered the resort and her decision!
Suddenly she left and then came out with a birthday cake … it was Hoew’s birthday on Sunday! That called for a Happy Birthday song!
Eventually Dao and I went to bed after a good cozy evening while a few of the others carried on. I believe Victor was among them…
Sunday morning Dao and I woke up early and had a nice sunrise walk up to the top of the mountain and a lovely breakfast when we came back down. Then we played a bit more in the pool until around 10. That was the time, when Hoew and his wife left with us for the airport.
All in all a nice party, an auspicious opening and a good start on a cozy and social naturist resort on Phuket.
