Naked Buns! Thailand’s Economy Gets a Little Boost From Nudists

Thisrupt is a new multimedia content platform launched in early 2020. The media creates provocative stories to inspire people to stand up and speak out for rights, liberty and equality.

On the day producer Teirra Kamolvattanavith and cinematographer Courtney Payne came to shoot the interviews that go into this program, they blended in perfectly by changing their street clothes to pool towels which made the naturists open themselves to them and answer all their questions frankly.

The program is on the Youtube Channel of Thisrupt  presented like this:

Since the inception of Thailand’s nudist community in 2007, interest in the lifestyle has grown rapidly. We investigate this cultural phenomenon and explore the economic potentials of this expanding niche.

Naturism is a cultural movement that practices and advocates for non-sexual, communal nudity. Though official definitions also encourage respect for the environment, others, as well as oneself, naturists are -- first and foremost -- people who really enjoy being naked.

When asked about their decision to join the movement, most naturists we interviewed described a feeling of “freedom” and “complete relaxation” upon taking their clothes off. Many believe it is the ultimate way to get to know one another authentically and intimately.

“I can’t see if they’re wearing ballet shoes or Bata shoes. Out of our clothes we are the same,” says Gregers Mollers, the man who imported the lifestyle into the kingdom.

Very well done video. You got just the right set of messages out there, Gregers (and team). Just slightly disappointed we were not at Barefeet that day. You know how I like to contribute my five-penny worth, Gregers. 🙂

Everything said is true. We are a community of likeminded individuals who love and respect each other as we are.
We know that a way will be found for us all to safely get and stay together. It will just take time to find a path through the COVID19 risks but we will do it.
