Opportunity for a naturist couple to run their own resort in Northern Thailand

A rare opportunity has opened for a naturist couple who would like to run their own resort in the peaceful countryside of Northern Thailand.
Located about 80 kilometers from Chiang Mai International Airport, the resort can be reached in roughly one hour and thirty minutes. Yet it is far from being “in the middle of nowhere.”
Just three kilometers away, following a small asphalt road winding through rice fields and orchards, you will discover a village with a Lotus’s mini market, a 7-Eleven, and several local restaurants.
About 15 kilometers further south lies the larger town of Chiang Dao, offering additional shops, markets, and services.
The resort sits on 11 rai of land (approximately 16.800 square meters) and offers a unique combination of natural beauty, privacy, and existing facilities that make it suitable for developing a small naturist retreat. On three sides the land is surrounded by fields, creating a sense of space and quiet that is increasingly difficult to find.
Birdsong fills the air throughout the day and in the evening, the sun sets behind the iconic mountains in the horizon to the west of the resort.
Existing accommodation
The resort already includes several accommodation options for guests:
- Two bamboo huts of 20 sqm incl. veranda
- Two single rooms with bathroom
- Four bungalows
- Four larger guest rooms, each suitable for up to three people
The large land area also leaves plenty of space for gardens, relaxation areas, or future development.
Facilities and potential services
The resort includes kitchen facilities that allow full restaurant service, making it possible to offer meals to guests throughout the day.
Additional income opportunities could include services such as:
- sauna sessions
- massage and wellness treatments
- detox or health programs
- meditation or yoga retreats
- workshops or small group events
With its peaceful surroundings, the property lends itself naturally to wellness-oriented activities.
Rental arrangement
The opportunity is offered as a resort operation rental, allowing the right couple to take over and run the property as their own business.
The rental terms are:
- 150,000 THB per month
- Special first-year startup rent: 120,000 THB per month
The reduced rent during the first year is intended to give the new operators time to establish the business and build a guest base.
Startup costs
New operators should be prepared for some initial startup costs.
These include:
- Three months rent paid in advance
- Purchase of operational equipment such as kitchen equipment and garden tools (lawn mowers, maintenance tools, etc.)
The estimated cost for equipment is approximately 200,000 – 250,000 THB, depending on the final agreement about what will be included in the inventory list and what remains part of the basic rental.
Utilities
The property has its own 21.000 liter water wells, so water usage is effectively included.
Electricity costs currently 15,000 THB per month, when all rooms are fully booked.
Who we are looking for
This opportunity is intended for a genuine naturist couple who would like to build a peaceful naturist retreat and become part of the naturist community in Thailand.
Naturism in Thailand is based on respect, relaxation, and social nudity in a family-friendly environment. The resort is therefore intended for people who share these values and who want to create a welcoming space for guests seeking a naturist lifestyle experience — not an adult/entertainment venue.
Ideally, the couple will enjoy living in nature, hosting guests, and gradually developing the resort into a warm and friendly place where visitors can relax, reconnect with nature, and meet like-minded people.
Experience in hospitality, wellness, yoga, or retreat-style activities would be an advantage, but the most important quality is a genuine interest in the naturist lifestyle and community. The owners will transfer all needed knowledge to manage the resort.
Practical arrangements
The current owners are a Thai–German family with a teenage daughter. They will continue to own the property but wish to hand over the daily operation of the resort to new operators.
The family has a private house within the resort area, and from time to time they may return for short stays.
For couples where one partner is Thai and the other is foreign, the most practical structure is often to establish a Thai company, through which the foreign partner can obtain a work permit. The operating company would then pay the agreed monthly rent to the current owners’ company.
This arrangement allows the new operators to run the resort as their own business while maintaining a clear and practical legal structure. This might actually also be a clear structure for a Thai-Thai couple.
A lifestyle opportunity
This opportunity is best suited for a naturist couple who enjoy hosting guests, living close to nature, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors.
Running a small naturist resort is not only a business but also a lifestyle that allows you to build community while enjoying the beauty and tranquility of rural Thailand.

Can we crowdfunding ,
I agree, crowdfunding isn’t a bad idea. If there was a clear business plan with a clear outlook, it would be worth investing in.
If I had no obligations AND knew how to run a business, this would be interesting. But I’m 0 for 2 on that front LOL. I let the smart people figure it out.
@Oyy lol
A serius calculation could bring the rent down – there should be a nice profit left for the new owners doing the job. A nice view is not enough. Money is also nice.
I am interested to invest if clear vision is there. I have no experience to run such business in Thailand, because I work here as a technical engineer post, but honestly I want invest if every thing is in order and legal way.
@Gregers what if the couple is of foreign national, then how does it work out?
That is easy – you just register a Thai company (NAT can help!) and operate the resort through that company.
