Report from the Movie Night and BBQ dinner
We were three naturist couples and two single naturist for the Movie Night and BBQ Campfire Dinner party on Saturday 29 August at Barefeet Naturist Resort in Bangkok. One of the singles were an in-house guest from Australia. The couples were one mixed Thai foreigner, one Japanese and one Thai.
Being only eight guest plus staff, we changed the program from watching the Danish think-piece The Hunt to the more easy viewing Fifty Shades of Grey. Our Japanese guest was very knowledgeable about computers and fixed the setup of the projector to accommodate a computer file instead of the planned Blue Ray DVD.
The campfire was cozy, but way to smoky in the beginning. We learned that next time we will skip straight to the charcoal grilling. Also, the food was more suited for a table dinner than a BBQ dinner with too few things to grill over the fire place.
Eventually, it didn’t matter, though, because suddenly it started pouring down and the screen, projector and equipment had to be rescued. The guests moved in around the dining table and five minutes later the movie was resumed.
Have you ever seen Fifty Shades of Grey? Well, the movie is very erotic with plenty of sado-masochistic scenes that provokes thought about sexuality and its mysterious links to pain. It was not less provoking than the planned The Hunt, which is about a man wrongfully accused on pedophilia, leaving questions of its own – but obviously different. I personally like the abrupt ending of Fifty Shades of Grey which left me with a lot of imagination of what was to follow. If ever they produce a sequel I have no intention of watching it as I enjoyed this ending a lot!
Afterwords, I also learned a simple card game with the Thai couple, that I could play endlessly for fun – I am not much for card games where you have to be soooo clever to win. This one was .., let’s say 80 pct luck and 20 pct thinking.
Eventually, we all split up – the Japanese couple even offering a ride to our single guest back to downtown Bangkok. Naturists are the friendliest bunch on the planet!!
