What is not considered naturist photography?
The following types of images are generally not naturist photos:
- Close-up photographs where the primary focus is the genitals, buttocks or breasts rather than the person or activity.
- Cropped images showing only intimate body parts.
- Images intended to be sexually suggestive or provocative.
- Poses designed to emphasise or display intimate body parts.
- Photos taken without the knowledge or consent of the people shown.
- Images whose primary purpose appears to be sexual arousal rather than documenting naturist life.
Cropping and composition
Moderators may remove photos where the composition places unnecessary emphasis on intimate body parts, even if no sexual intent was intended. In general, if cropping away the face and surroundings would leave little more than genitals or breasts, the image is unlikely to meet our guidelines.
What we encourage
Naturist photography celebrates the human body as a natural part of life. The purpose of photos shared on NAT platforms is to document naturist activities, friendships, travel, recreation, sport and everyday life in a naturist setting—not to draw attention to nudity itself.
Photos should:
- Show people enjoying naturist activities or social interaction.
- Present nudity as natural and incidental rather than as the main subject.
- Be respectful of everyone shown.
- Have the whole person or the surrounding activity as the focus.
- Be suitable for viewing by members of all ages and backgrounds.
Privacy stickers or blurred faces are acceptable when used to protect someone’s identity, particularly where appearing in a naturist photo could cause legal, professional or personal difficulties. However, we encourage members to avoid unnecessary stickers that distract from otherwise good photographs.
Moderator discretion
No written rules can cover every situation. Moderators will consider the overall impression of each image, including its context, composition and apparent purpose.
When in doubt, ask:
«Is this a photograph about people enjoying naturism, or is it primarily a photograph about naked body parts?»
If the latter, it does not belong on NAT platforms.
Before you upload
All photographs uploaded to NAT platforms are subject to moderation. Images that do not meet these guidelines may be rejected or removed without prior notice. Repeated uploading of unsuitable images may result in further action, including restrictions on posting privileges.
By uploading photographs, you confirm that you have the permission of everyone shown to share the image, and that it complies with these guidelines and the NAT Community Standards.
