Growing interest for naturist vacations in Thailand

With its friendly people, beautiful beaches, year-round sunshine and laid-back lifestyle Thailand has been a magnet for foreign tourists for decades. Over the past seven years, a growing number of naturists and nudists have also found Thailand a heaven on earth. Their dressed-down way of life takes place at private
Member Resorts or rental villas where special measures are taken to avoid offending people in the local environment.

Naturist Association Thailand Co., Ltd. - the official national organization for naturism and nudism in Thailand - says the timing is right for Thailand to tap into this market, as it is not just growing domestically, but also worldwide. Established in 2007, the association is supported by over 1800+ members and continues to grow.

"There is a growing interest nationally as well as internationally", says Gregers Moller, married to Managing Director Disraporn Yatprom of Naturist Association Thailand Co., Ltd. and himself one of the active members of the association.

"We have more and more Thai members, maybe because of a growing open-mindedness, and they are glad to find this life style option in Thailand, and not only in Europe, Australia or the USA," he adds.

Popular in Thailand

It may come as a surprise to many that about one third of the customers are living in Thailand - mostly well educated in the higher income bracket - who are much more open to the healthy benefits of naturism than what is generally believed.

Despite the growing number of people seeking naturism, Thailand is still "light years away" from other countries, such as Spain and France, but with naturist tourists pouring in from South Africa , Singapore, India, China, and other Asian countries, the growth potential is very promising, says Naturist Association Thailand.
